The American Revolution Through the Eyes of Its People Thursday, September 4th at 7:00 p.m.
The Sherman Historical Society and Sherman Library have once again teamed up to host author and historical storyteller, John Cilio, as he presents The American Revolution Through the Eyes of Its People. His last presentation was standing-room only so be sure to find your seat Thursday, September 4th, at 7pm, at the Sherman Library
This presentation will take attendees on an informative exploration of the events leading up to and during the American Revolution that impacted patriot citizens. We will examine the British efforts to unite the colonies two decades earlier, delve into the colonial power struggle, and explore the political actions and domestic issues that defined the era. We will conclude by discussing the Treaty of Paris, which officially ended the war.
Period illustrations, artwork, and documents that vividly represent the time will be shared during this program. The presentation is based on a compelling 1785 book, while also incorporating various contemporary resources to reveal intriguing insights that were unknown to historians of that period. It promises to be a session that is both educational and engaging.
John Cilio is a fascinating historical storyteller, author, and researcher who has been captivating audiences with his tales of the past for over 15 years. As a proud member of the Organization of American Historians and the Association for the Study of Connecticut History, John has shared his knowledge through numerous articles in national magazines and newspapers. Through his captivating storytelling and in-depth research, John continues to inspire and educate.
