Insect Inspired Art Class Thursday, July 31st at 7:00 p.m.

Join the Sherman Library on Thursday, July 31st at 7:00pm for an insect inspired art class with Betsy Duckworth.

Artist and author Betsy Duckworth will lead attendees through the process of making their own insect inspired art piece from found natural materials. All materials are included and each attendee will leave with a finished piece of their own making in a wooden frame, plus a small tote bag for future collecting! Attendees may feel free to bring any dried or pressed flora to work with, but it is not necessary as there will be plenty to choose from.
Betsy Duckworth is a writer and artist based in Connecticut who often uses found, recycled, and upcycled material in her work, allowing the voice of her scavenged bits and bobs to dictate her pieces. She is particularly fond of fallen and dried flora, work textiles, and rusted metals, as they all have a story to tell. Betsy has a BA in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania and has studied at the University of the Arts, Pennland School of Crafts, and Parsons. When she is not making, she is writing or spending time with her husband and son and their rescue hound mix, Charlie, the best dog ever.

This is an in-person program at the Sherman Library. Space is limited, registration is required. To register visit www.shermanlibrary.org, email slprograms@biblio.org or call 860-354-2455.
