Annual Budget Meeting

To present the Town budget and the Board of Education budget recommended by the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024.

 

1)         “Shall the Town of Sherman Budget of $5,581,761 as proposed by the Board of Selectmen, acting as the Board of Finance, for the year 7/1/2024 through 6/30/2025, be approved?  “Yes” or “No”.

 

2)         “Shall the Board of Education Budget of $9,869,360 as proposed by the Board of Selectmen, acting as the Board of Finance, for the year 7/1/2024  through 6/30/2025, be approved?  “Yes” or “No”.

 

 

 

Resolutions Numbers 1 and 2 above have been removed from the call of the meeting by the Board of Selectmen as per Section 7-7 of the Connecticut General Statutes.  The Moderator shall adjourn the Town Meeting at its conclusion and the above Resolutions shall be submitted to a referendum vote on the voting machines or paper ballots by Town electors and qualified voters for approval or disapproval on Saturday, May 4, 2024 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM at Charter Hall in the Emergency Services Facility.  The Resolutions shall be placed upon the voting machines or paper ballots under the following headings:  

 

 

QUESTION 1

 

“SHALL THE TOWN OF SHERMAN BUDGET OF “$5,581,761 AS PROPOSED BY THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN, ACTING AS THE BOARD OF FINANCE, FOR THE YEAR 7/1/2024 THROUGH 6/30/2025 BE APPROVED?”

                                    YES                                                     NO

 

Voters approving the Resolution will vote “Yes” and those opposing the Resolution will vote “No”.

 

QUESTION 2

 

“SHALL THE BOARD OF EDUCATION BUDGET OF $9,869,360 AS PROPOSED BY THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN, ACTING AS THE BOARD OF FINANCE, FOR THE YEAR 7/1/2024 THROUGH 6/30/2025 BE APPROVED?”

                                    YES                                                     NO

 

Voters approving the Resolution will vote ‘Yes” and those opposing the Resolution will vote “No”.
