Next weekend is the Sherman Community Expo on May 4, 2024 11 – 3pm (Rain date 5/5) on the Sherman Town Green, Rt 39 North (IGA Plaza), Sherman, CT. 06784. Come discover how, 222 years after it was incorporated, Sherman is still going strong. It is a wonderful community with arts, culture, conservation, history, social services, and more.   
 
Sherman arts & cultural organizations, conservation organizations and other town organizations will be on hand to tell you about what they do and how you can get involved.  This is a free family-friendly event. 
 
Some of the participating organizations include:   Sherman Conservation Commission,  Sherman Commission for the Arts,  Candlewood Lake Authority, Deer Pond Audubon Center, Great Hollow Nature Preserve,  Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy,  Sierra Club,  Sherman Volunteer Fire Dept, Sherman Historical Society,  Sherman Chamber Ensemble,  Sherman Players,  JCC in Sherman, Sherman Library,  Sherman Artists Association,  Sherman School,  Sherman Senior Center, Sherman Social Services, and more!  Come learn about the organizations in Sherman and how they support you and make this a vibrant community.
 
There will be live music in the Gazebo by Elliot Bailen from the Sherman Chamber Ensemble, members from Sherman School Band, Don Lowe, Charlie Gerard and Bill Petkanas & Missy Alexander! 
 
In addition, some organizations will have some fun surprises.   The Conservation Commission will be raffling (for free) garden-related items!
