The scenic Town of Sherman, incorporated in Oct. 1802, is located in the Housatonic Valley at the
northern end of Candlewood Lake. We are a rural community of 23.4 square miles with a population,
est., 3,581. Sherman is the northern most town in Fairfield County, accessed by state routes 39,
37 and 55. Sherman has an excellent K-8 School and our High School students have a choice of four
area schools to attend. Our town's government is Board of Selectmen, Town Meeting.

Greetings Sherman Residents:
As we start the New Year, please drive carefully.
Christmas trees can be brought to the Town Garage on Route 39 North for recycling during Public Works hours (Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM). Christmas trees can be left on the side of Town-owned roads only. Christmas tree pickup and recycling will continue until January 30th.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to deliver Meals on Wheels for Sherman shut-ins. Prepared and pre-packaged meals just need to be picked up and delivered. Your commitment can be as little as one day a month and will allow homebound seniors to eat nourishing meals. Please call Susan Spengler (860-210-0259) or Beth Trott (860-354-2414) to volunteer or for more information.
Calls for FISH, the volunteer service providing rides to medical appointments, medical equipment, and help with small chores, should be directed to 860-355-4334.
Agendas for upcoming meetings can be found in the Events Calendar. Minutes of meetings are posted under Quick Links/Minutes.
