Join the Sherman Library for “Protect and Preserve: Approaching an Art Archive” presented by Oliver Tobin on Saturday, May 11th at 11:00am. During this informative program, Oliver will share his insights on how to organize, preserve, and creatively manage a collection.

Oliver Tobin, former director of Martha Graham Resources and a former dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, oversaw the archival process of Graham's extensive collection. This included costumes, production elements, images, ephemera, and personal items spanning from 1894 to 2021 as well as relocating the physical collection to its permanent home at the NYPL Dance Division in January 2020. Additionally, he implemented a digital database that ensures global access to Graham's legacy through licensing projects in theaters, film, television, galleries, museums, and educational institutions.

This in-program at the Library is free. Register online at shermanlibrary.org/registration or call 860-354-2455
